The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, together with the DIPPER Lab team and representatives of the College of Science, has paid a courtesy call on the Vice-Chancellor of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), Professor Christian Agyare.
The visit followed discussions at the DIPPER Lab, housed in the College of Engineering, on a proposed project to improve traffic light systems in the Deputy Minister’s constituency.

The DIPPER Lab team was led by its Scientific Director, Professor Eric Tutu Tchao, while the College of Science delegation was led by Professor Reuben Tamakloe.
The project would involve collaboration between the College of Engineering and the College of Science, with experts from the University providing technical support to address traffic light challenges in the constituency.
Professor Agyare welcomed the initiative and assured the Deputy Minister of the University’s readiness to provide the necessary support for the project.
He described the initiative as laudable and said it aligned with his vision for the University.
“This is a laudable initiative and aligns with my vision as Vice-Chancellor,” Professor Agyare said.

The Deputy Minister of Food and Agriculture, John Dumelo, said the approach would strengthen collaboration among academia, government and the private sector by enabling the University to apply its expertise to a practical community need.
The DIPPER Lab will lead the technical implementation of the project.
